The West Seneca Exchange (2023) proposes a small branch Library in southwest Ithaca, New York. Situated at the intersection of industrial sites, homeless encampments and trailer parks, the library acts as a meeting point between diverse and divided social groups.
The library portion is lifted up to act as its own entity while the ground floor uses its strategic location to house kiosks, soup kitchens and 24-hour open bathrooms and showers. The building aims to host at least two completely different need groups while supporting each spatially and in facilitating their (self-selected) interaction
